AR Cucina

I love the night life in Downtown Culver City. It's full of life, energy, and new restaurants emerging like AR Cucina. I went last Friday night to continue celebrating my Birthday month, and to check out the scene. It is such a lively place. The restaurant was packed. Demetrius was our waiter and he recommended some dishes that were definitely a must try. First, we had the candied stripped beets and blood orange salad, which was wonderful. It was nice and crisp and the pine nuts gave it that added texture. I had been craving a good Lasagne since it is a favorite dish of mine. Usually, when you bite into the first slice, the the pasta is quite thick as well as the sauce. The Lasagne Verde spinach pasta was thin, and had a nice crispiness along the four corners. It consisted of short rib, mushroom, ragü, fonduta, parmgiano-reggiano. It was heavenly and I would come back again just to have this dish. The Risotto Alla Funghi is exceptional. I am not a huge fan of Risotto, but this entrée changed my mind. The flavor went well together with porcini & signoria mushrooms, parmigiano-reggiano. I was so thrilled having such a great a experience here. We had three desserts that were all sensational. You cannot go wrong with the Lemon Tiramisu (Meyer lemon curd, and marscapone), Espresso Gelato Pie (chocolate sauce and whipped cream with gluten free crust , and last we had the Mele Crostata (Apple Tart with Sea Salt Caramel ice cream). I was so content with AR that I had to reach out to Chef Kirk Plummer the next day, and to let him know how much I admired his dishes. So, it looks like I will be going back be pretty soon.
